Step 2 is a three bed transitional living unit which is committed to assisting persons between the ages of 16 and 64 with the dual diagnosis of Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) or Neurodegenerative disease and Psychiatric disorders. Step 2 provides a unique home like environment aimed at maximising each persons potential for independent living through case management, assessment, training, supervision and facilitation of independent living skills.
The program is designed on an individual basis to meet each resident's specific needs. Staff will assist residents with improving activities of daily living such as attending to hygiene, household chores, meal preparation, budgeting, shopping and use of public transport. We also aim to assist residents with socialisation and communication skills.
Step 2 is staffed 24 hours a day by nursing staff who are experienced in the support of people with Acquired Brain Injury and Psychiatric Disability.
